Woodbridge Man Completes Journey Across America

Thomas Francine walked from Portland, Maine to Pendleton, Ind. in the last three months.

Thomas Francine, a Woodbridge man who aimed to walk across the United States has completed his journey in Indiana.

Thomas Francine, 26, of Woodbridge, set out in July on a journey toΒ walk and hitchhikeΒ across the United States from Portland, Maine to San Diego, Calif.Β 

His goal was toΒ highlight the good in humanity and complete acts of kindness along the way.Β Β 

He completed his journey inΒ Pendleton, Ind. after 1,067 miles.Β 

"I completed a different act of kindness each week, and challenged people to follow along with my ideas through my blog, or to complete their own," Francine said, in an email to Woodbridge Patch.Β "With my "go greater good" message/conversations and various acts of kindness, I got to very personally reach out to over 1,000 people… and with 24 pieces of press, for both small towns and major cities, my message traveled to 1,000β€²s more I have never met."

As a final act of kindness, Francine has started a fundraising site to raise money to benefit the Multiple Sclerosis Association of AmericaΒ in honor of a fellow traveler.
