2 Arrested In Connection To Englewood Store Robbery

ENGLEWOOD, NJ — Two people were arrested in connection with an armed robbery at an Englewood convenience store last week, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.

Englewood resident Gary Williams, 38, and Monica Peters-Gore, 52, of Teaneck were charged with first-degree robbery, third-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

Two people were caught on camera going into the Grand Avenue store around 3:50 a.m. July 15. One of them forced an employee to the ground at knifepoint while the other took several cartons of cigarettes, according to the prosecutor’s office.

They fled the store in an unknown direction, officials said.

Hours after the robbery, Peters-Gore was arrested during a traffic stop by Teaneck police, who said they also found evidence tying Williams to the robbery.

On Wednesday, Englewood police arrested Williams without incident.

The prosecutor office's Special Investigations Squad and Englewood police said they identified Peters-Gore as one of the two people in the camera footage.

Both Peters-Gore and Williams were sent to Bergen County Jail pending their appearances in Central Judicial Processing Court.
