4 Dead, 8 Hurt After Shuttle Van Overturns In Bergen County
Multiple victims were reported in a rollover crash early Friday on Palisades Interstate Parkway in Englewood Cliffs.
ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, NJ — A rollover crash early Friday involving a shuttle van left four passengers dead and eight injured on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in Englewood Cliffs, parkway police said.
A Ford Econoline E350 van, which serves as a transportation service for factory workers in upstate New York to and from their residences, rolled over in the center median of the southbound lanes at 1:27 a.m., police said.
The van contained 12 passengers, four of whom suffered severe trauma and were pronounced dead at the scene, and eight of whom were hospitalized with injuries ranging in severity from serious head trauma to minor physical complaints, police said. None of the victims was identified.

Rescue and first aid treatment began immediately, police said. Several passengers were trapped inside the overturned vehicle and were extricated.
Police are still investigating the cause of the single-vehicle crash.
