The Englewood City Council is scheduled to vote Tuesday on an ordinance to borrow $3.1 million to repair an ice rink and retaining wall damaged by Hurricane Sandy, according to a report on NorthJersey.com.
About $2 million of the bonded funds will go toward rebuilding a 100-year-old retaining wall along the Overpeck Creek between First Street and Englewood Avenue, according to the report. An additional $550,000 may come from a Bergen County grant.
Another $1.1 million will go toward repairing the interior of the John T. Wright Arena in Mackay Park, which was damaged when heavy winds blew off its roof, according to the report. Additional funds for the roof repair are expected to come from grants.
