Englewood Man Charged With Murder In Bar Shooting: Prosecutor
Talek T. Lawson, 23, was arrested in connection with the death of Dakota Johnson, at Buddy's Place bar in Bogota Wednesday.
ENGLEWOOD, NJ — A city man was charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of a man near a Bogota bar Wednesday night, authorities announced.
Talek T. Lawson, 23, and another city man, Justin Dula, 20, were arrested after an investigation by the Englewood and Bogota Police department, and the Bergen County Sheriff's and prosecutor's office, said acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo.
The investigation revealed that during a fight, Dula assaulted someone to try and "cause seriously bodily injury," Calo said.

During the incident, Lawson fired a handgun and shot Lawson, killing him, Calo said.
The victim, Dakota Johnson was found on a nearby front lawn and later pronounced dead at Hackensack University Medical Center. (See related: Man Found Shot On Bogota Front Lawn Dies: Prosecutor)

In addition to murder, Lawson was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, both second-degree offenses. Dula was charged with aggravated assault.
Both men were remanded to the Bergen County jail pending court appearances.
