Firefighter Convicted, Senior Sting Tenants Forced Out in Top Local Headlines

The Tibbs Senior Citizen Building tenants whoallegedly turned their apartments into a prostitution and crack den have been forced out of the complex, Englewood Housing Authority executive director Maria Iwano said.

Fifth-floor neighbors James Parham and Cheryl Chaney, who face drug and nuisance charges will both be gone by the end of next month, Iwano said.

A jury found suspended firefighter David Fernandez guilty on two counts of sexual assault, child endangerment and criminal sexual contact after more than three days of deliberations, the report said. The jury was hung on two additional counts of sexual assault and criminal sexual contact.
