Jailed Man Linked To Child Sex Assault: Bergen Co. Prosecutor

A man already in custody on sexual assault and child endangerment charges has been connected to a child sexual assault, officials said.

ENGLEWOOD, NJ — A man already in custody on sexual assault and child endangerment charges has been connected to a child sexual assault in Englewood, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said.

Ulises Ramirez Argueta, who works as a landscaper, sexually assaulted a child who was 16 years old or younger in Englewood, Prosecutor Mark Musella said in a news release.

Argueta is a citizen of El Salvador, according to his record page on the Bergen County Jail website.

Law enforcement originally arrested Argueta, 31, on April 12. Musella said Argueta came into a woman's home and sexually assaulted her while three children were present.

He was charged with two separate charges of first-degree aggravated sexual assault; a charge of second-degree burglary; and a charge of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

On April 15, Englewood police contacted Musella's office about an alleged child sexual assault, the news release said. An investigation linked Argueta to the assault of the child. Musella did not specify when this alleged incident took place.

Officials charged Argueta at the jail with second-degree criminal attempt/sexual assault, third-degree criminal sexual contact, and fourth-degree endangering the welfare of a child, Musella said.
