Pack Some Snacks With Center For Food Action In Bergen County
The 7th annual 9/11 Weekend Snack Pack event is coming up soon. Can you spare a few hours to give back?

ENGLEWOOD, NJ — The Center for Food Action is hosting its annual 9/11 Weekend Snack Pack event soon.
The event was started as a way of commemorating the lives of those lost on 9/11 by getting people to donate their time assembling snack packs for children in need in Bergen County. Sept. 11 is the National Day of Service and Remembrance.
Volunteers are needed to help pack snack packs at the Englewood Field Club on Sept. 11 from 4 to 5 p.m. There are also packing events at Bergen Community College at 11 a.m. Sept. 11 and at the Center for Food Action in Mahwah on Sept. 8 at 1 p.m.

Jen Maxfield Ostfeld, a mother of three children and an NBC news reporter, founded the Weekend Snack Pack initiative.
"I'm proud to be a part of helping our community on the National Day of Service and Remembrance," Ostfeld said. "In the past seven years — because of generous donors — this event has grown exponentially, allowing the Center for Food Action to serve thousands of Bergen County children who live with food insecurity."
