Family Accused of Violent New Year's Stabbing, Beating at Elks Lodge

Four people charged and one remains at-large after woman was stabbed in the neck, stomped and beaten, police said.

Two parents, their daughters and one other person were involved in a violent New Year's Eve altercation where they stabbed a woman in the neck, leaving her stomped and beaten at the Elks Lodge on Bennett Road, Englewood Police said.

Englewood detectives identified five Englewood residents involved in the attack, Detective Capt. Timothy Torell said. Initially, three were arrested and two remained at large, he said.

That changed Wednesday morning when Troi Dixon, 21, surrendered to Englewood Police.

Porsche Brown, 22, her mother, Roneicka Hooks, 41, and her father, William "Juggie" Brown, 42, have all been arrested, Torell said.

Hooks' daughter, Dajshae Huggins, 20, is still wanted on second-degree aggravated assault charges.

Torell said officers arrived at about 2 a.m. on Jan. 1 and found a 35-year-old Englewood woman lying in a pile of broken glass shards and puddles of blood.

“The patrol officers who responded did a great job in rendering her initial first aid and getting her to the hospital without delay,” Torell said.

The woman was transported to Englewood Hospital and treated for multiple cuts, bruises and a broken nose, including a large neck wound that required 70 stitches after being stabbed with a broken champagne glass, according to Torell.

Porsche Brown, identified as the one who stabbed the victim in the neck while the other four allegedly beat and stomped the victim, was charged with second- and third-degree aggravated assault with a weapon, Torell said.

Hooks was charged with one count of second-degree aggravated assault.

William Brown has been charged with one count of second-degree aggravated assault.

Porsche Brown was released after posting $100,000 bail. Hooks was released after posting a bond on a $75,000 bail and William Brown was released after posting a bond on a $75,000 bail on Jan. 17, Torell said. And now that she has surrendered, Troi Dixon will move from the Englewood City lock-up to the Bergen County Jail on $75,000 bail.

“Anytime someone is stabbed in the neck, there is a potential for the case to end up as a homicide," Torell said. "The victim was extremely fortunate, all things considered. Ms. Huggins [is] aware [she is a fugitive] and we urge [her] to turn [herself] in as soon as possible,” Torell said.

Anyone with information regarding Huggins' whereabouts can call the Englewood Police Desk at 201-568-2700.

All calls will be kept confidential, Torell said.
