"The Community Chest received an outstanding range of applications for these leadership awards. Each applicant demonstrated exceptional talents and a commitment to social justice causes," nonprofit Executive Director Shelly Wimpfheimer said.

The awards program celebrates the leadership that Elizabeth Cady Stanton, who lived in Tenafly from 1868 to 1887, demonstrated throughout her life, the news release said. Stanton was a leader in the woman's suffrage movement.
