FLEMINGTON, NJ — Gary Breuer is a first-responder who was at Ground Zero at the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. Breuer will speak at the Hunterdon County 9/11 remembrance ceremony Wednesday. He is a retired Rartian Township police officer and a member of the State Police Office of Emergency Management. He was slated to speak at the memorial service last year, but was called away to help people in the Carolinas recover from Hurricane Florence. The remembrance ceremony is Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. on the steps of the Hunterdon County courthouse in Flemington. Sixteen people from Hunterdon County died in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. "The 9/11 ceremony serves as an important reminder," said Hunterdon County Sheriff Fred Brown.
