• Burlington County Commissioners Approve Contracts For New Regional Trail Studies (trentonian.com) — Florence residents could soon see major upgrades to local trails, including a 13-mile extension of the Delaware River Heritage Trail starting in town and new links to the 5th Street Trail and nearby communities. Burlington County Commissioners just approved contracts to study these routes and a countywide bike and pedestrian safety plan, aiming to improve recreation, connectivity, and safe travel for walkers and cyclists. 
• Rail News - NTSB: Low-light conditions led to fatal NJ Transit accident. For Railroad Career Professionals (progressiverailroading.com) — A federal investigation found that predawn low-light conditions caused an NJ Transit River Line train to hit a fallen tree near Florence, fatally injuring the operator and sending 23 passengers to the hospital with minor injuries. The NTSB says earlier tree strikes signaled a risk, and NJ Transit, Alstom, and state officials have since begun clearing tree hazards and monitoring safety along the line.
