The will hold a Tuesday at which appointment of a superintendent and an assistant superintendent are expected, bringing to an end months of speculation as to who would be in charge of the district once Interim Superintendent Steven Engravalleβs interim status expires at the end of June.
The boardβs choices are to appoint a permanent superintendentβwhether Engravalle or the one other finalistβor extend Engravalleβs interim status.
At a meeting on June 11, the that the search for a permanent superintendent was down to two finalists for the position. School board member and chair of the personnel committee Peter Suh said the board had interviewed one of the finalists earlier that day, and that they didnβt feel they needed to meet with the other candidate.

He also said that the board needs county approval on a superintendentβs contract so if Engravalle were appointed, he would likely need to be extended as interim superintendent until that approval came through.
He added that the βworst case scenarioβ would be a straight extension of Engravalleβs status as interim superintendent for now.
