Six Fort Lee players were key to a recent championship win by Jimmy’s Boys, a traveling youth league baseball team, according to a news release.
The six - Mason Cohen, Felix Herrera, Emmanuel Perez, Josef Rosa, Franco Rosario, and Danny Spierer - were credited with the PBI Fall Ball Club league win. All the Fort Lee players trained with Jimmy Gilronen, a batting coach from Bogota.
“Our boys brought home the championship trophy on November 10th with a stellar victory in the finals. The game remained tight throughout, with Jimmy's Boys clinching the victory over Stony Point 16-15 in the bottom of the 6th,” the release said.

Players train five days a week with practices, cage training, speed training and private instruction.
“It just goes to show that hard work and dedication can pay off. Jimmy's Boys’ mission is to provide each player with the opportunity to play baseball at a competitive level,” the release said. “This opportunity will enable these players to experience and to develop life skills such as leadership, teamwork, and discipline; skills that will help them help them become successful throughout the rest of their lives.”
