‘An Exciting New Chapter’: New Mexican Grill Comes To Freehold

FREEHOLD, NJ — Burrito Bowl Mexican Grill has brought a new location to Freehold and is set to host a Grand Opening event on Friday.

Located on 31 E Main Street, the grill offers a variety of menu options for customers ranging from empanadas to burritos, tacos, bowls, and more.

On Friday, the grill will host its official Grand Opening event and offer a free bowl to the first 200 guests from 2-4 p.m. The offer is one bowl per person, and there will be an additional cost for double protein, queso and guac.

“Our grand opening in Freehold marks an exciting new chapter for Burrito Bowl,” Sunil Ratwani, founder of Burrito Bowl, told Patch. “We’ve poured our passion into creating a space where the community can enjoy bold, fresh flavors in a fun and welcoming atmosphere."

"We can’t wait to open our doors this Friday and celebrate with everyone," Ratwani continued.

Alongside their newest Freehold location, Burrito Bowl also has restaurants in Monroe Township, Howell Township and Jamesburg.

The business started when Sunil and Ruby (the founders of Burrito Bowl alongside their daughter, Sia) decided to open a restaurant that reflects their love of Mexican food and multi-cultural recipes, according to the restaurant website.

With a background in managing operations and finances, Sunil saw a business opportunity in opening Burrito Bowl in areas without many Mexican restaurant options, the website said.

Alongside Sunil's business background, Ruby quickly learned the details of what it takes to create an authentic Mexican meal and made sure to only use fresh ingredients that go well together.

In July 2020, the first Burrito Bowl location was launched, followed by their second, third and now fourth location in Freehold.

The Freehold location opened its doors to customers in June and will now host their official grand opening on Friday.
