Man Charged In Freehold Shooting That Injured 2, Prosecutor Says

The man has been charged with two counts of first-degree attempted murder alongside other charges, prosecutors said.

FREEHOLD BOROUGH, NJ — A Freehold Borough man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder in a shooting that injured two people on Tuesday, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said.

Jordan Woolfolk, 20, of Freehold Borough, has been charged with two counts of first-degree attempted murder, along with single counts of second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon (handgun), second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and third-degree hindering, Santiago said.

Woolfolk was arrested and charged in connection with the shooting that took place at 1:26 a.m. on Tuesday, when Freehold Borough police officers responded to Jackson Street for a report of shots fired.

Once officers arrived at the scene, prosecutors said they found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

From there, the female victim was brought to a local hospital, where she received medical treatment for her injury. A second victim was also brought to the hospital, treated and released for a non-life-threatening injury, Santiago said.

Following an investigation by members of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau and the Freehold Borough Police Department, Woolfolk was identified as the suspect in the shooting.

He was found and arrested later that same day, prosecutors said. Woolfolk was then brought to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, where he is being held pending his first appearance in Monmouth County Superior Court.
