Capture ‘Revolutionary Monmouth County’ For Annual High School Photography Contest
In honor of America's upcoming 250th birthday, this year's contest focuses on historic county sites significant to the American Revolution.
MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — The Monmouth County Clerk’s Office is inviting high school students throughout the county to enter this year’s High School Archives & History Day Photography Contest.
In honor of America’s upcoming 250th birthday, the theme for this year’s contest is “Revolutionary Monmouth County,” which aims to look at the county’s history during the period of the American Revolution.
Participating students are challenged to capture one of the many historic Monmouth County sites significant to the American Revolution era for the contest, which is open to students enrolled in grades 9-12 for the 2025-26 school year who live in Monmouth County and/or attend a Monmouth County high school.

All entries must be submitted in digital format via email, and submitted photos can be black-and-white or color.
Entries must be the entrant’s original work, as AI is not permitted and image editing is only permitted for the purposes of enhancing photo quality.

Submitted entries will be judged based on overall quality, artistic expression and relevance to the contest theme, officials said.
The top three winners will be honored at Archives & History Day on Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Robert J. Collins Arena at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, and will receive prizes:
- First Place: $200 Gift Card
- Second Place: $175 Gift Card
- Third Place: $150 Gift Card
All work must be submitted via email to ClerkContest@co.monmouth.nj.us with the subject line “2025 High School Photography Contest” no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3. Late entries will not be accepted.
