‘Code Blue’ Alert Extended In Monmouth County

MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — A “Code Blue” alert has been extended throughout Monmouth County, keeping warming centers and shelters open as the cold weather continues.

“Code Blue” is put in place when temperatures drop below freezing (32 F) and conditions pose a threat to unsheltered individuals.

In Monmouth County, the “Code Blue” alert is set to last until 9 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 10.

If you or someone you know does not have housing, here’s where they can go:

• Monmouth County Division of Social Services: 3000 Kozloski Road, Freehold (Monday–Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
• Lunch Break Inc: 121 Drs James Parker Blvd., Red Bank (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
• Hope and Comfort Center: 166-168 Shrewsbury Avenue, Red Bank (Check-in after 5 p.m.)
• Monmouth County Library (Manalapan): 125 Symmes Drive, Manalapan (Monday–Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday–Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1-5 p.m.)
• Monmouth County Library (Shrewsbury): 101 Route 35, Shrewsbury (Monday–Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday–Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1-5 p.m.)
• The Feast NJ, Women’s Heart Warming Center: 90 Maple Avenue, Red Bank (Must call ahead at 732-749-2974, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
• Trinity Episcopal Church: 503 Asbury Avenue, Asbury Park (7 p.m. to 6 a.m.)
