‘Code Blue’ Alert Extended Throughout Monmouth County

MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — Monmouth County has extended its 'Code Blue' alert, keeping shelters open to those in need throughout the area.
'Code Blue' is put in place when temperatures drop below freezing (32 F) and conditions pose a threat to unsheltered individuals.
The alert began Friday at 6 p.m. and was originally set to last until Christmas morning. On Monday, the county extended the alert, which will now be in effect until Saturday at 9 a.m.

If you or someone you know does not have housing, here's where they can go:
- Monmouth County Division of Social Services: 3000 Kozloski Road, Freehold (Mon—Fri, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
- Hope and Comfort Center: 166-168 Shrewsbury Ave., Red Bank (Check-in after 5 p.m.)
- Monmouth County Library — Manalapan: 125 Symmes Drive, Manalapan (Mon—Thurs 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Fri—Sat 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sun 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.)
- Monmouth County Library — Shrewsbury: 101 Route 35, Shrewsbury (Mon—Thurs 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Fri—Sat 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sun 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.)
- The Feast NJ, Women’s Heart Warming Center: 90 Maple Ave., Red Bank (Must call ahead 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
- Trinity Episcopal Church: 503 Asbury Ave., Asbury Park (7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.)
