As you get ready to sit back, relax and enjoy the long weekend, there are plenty of summer-themed events and Independence Day events planned around Monmouth County.

Freehold Borough Independence Day Celebration
For those looking to celebrate this July 4 weekend in style, you can check out Freehold Borough’s two-day Independence Day Celebration.

On Thursday at 5:30 p.m., the borough will host music, fireworks and more at Freehold Raceway. On Friday at 9 a.m., the borough will host their public reading of the Declaration of Independence (those who wish to read should arrive before 8:45 a.m.)

Downtown Freehold Farmer’s Market
If you’re looking to shop local this weekend, you can check out the Downtown Freehold Farmers’ Market on Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in front of the Hall of Records.

Sundown Sessions
Join Bell Works for their Sundown Sessions on Saturday with live music from DJ Robbie Woodside. The bar opens at 4 p.m., and Woodside will be performing from 5-8 p.m.

Country Night
