FREEHOLD, NJ — With COVID-19 cases on the rise and the holidays around the corner, many residents might be on the hunt for a place to test for the virus.
On Wednesday, Monmouth County is hosting a COVID-19 testing site from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Freehold Borough Fire Department, located at 49 W St.
Appointments are not necessary to get a test.

The site will be open during the hours listed or until the 2o0 PCR tests available run out. Results can be expected in two to three days.
Rapid tests will not be available.

Just over the weekend, 2,036 Additional new COVID-19 cases were registered in Monmouth County, with five new deaths related to the virus.
All New Jersey counties still have a "high" level of transmission — including Monmouth —, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
