The chief was arrested at his home on Aug. 2 and put on administrative leave of absence from his role shortly after, authorities said.

FREEHOLD, NJ — Freehold Fire Chief Michael Wilson is accused of injuring a victim in a domestic violence incident, court documents show.
Wilson, 50, who is on administrative leave from his position as fire chief, was arrested Aug. 2 at 3:55 a.m. after police were called to his Manalapan home, according to the probable cause affidavit obtained by Patch.
According to the affidavit, the victim's left arm was injured in the incident, which was recorded on cellphone video.

The affidavit does not give a description of the injury beyond saying that the victim, whose name is redacted, was treated at the scene.
The complaint said Wilson “appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol,” according to police, who responded to a 911 call from an unidentified member of the public.
