Fire Truck Escorting Santa Called To Put Out Fire In Monmouth Co.

A firetruck escorting Santa around the Borough was called to an aprtment fire on Thursday.

FREEHOLD, NJ — A fire broke out in an apartment in Freehold on Thursday and was put out with the help of a fire truck that was escorting Santa Claus, according to the Freehold Fire Department.

"Please keep the displaced families in your thoughts and prayers this holiday weekend," officials wrote on social media.

The fire was reported at around 7:49 p.m on Sheriff Street.

The fire truck that was escorting Santa around the borough arrived at the scene of the fire to find heavy smoke.

The fire was quickly put out and contained to one single apartment.

One firefighter sustained a minor leg injury.

The cause of the incident is under investigation by the Monmouth County Fire Marshals Office in conjunction with the Freehold Borough Police Department.
