Freehold Halloween: See All The Events Coming Up This Month
From a jack-o-lantern contest to the Halloween parade, there are plenty of events planned for the spooky season.
FREEHOLD, NJ — There is certainly no shortage of Halloween programming in Freehold.
From a jack-o-lantern contest to the Halloween parade, there are plenty of events planned for the spooky season. Most of them are free to attend.

- Oct. 14, Window Painting: Residents and visitors to the borough can enjoy the Halloween murals painted on retail stores by Freehold Regional High School District and Freehold Intermediate School students.
- Oct. 17, from 1 to 4 p.m., Haunted Hayride: Locals will morph into terrifying creatures leading a wagon through streets of Freehold. The event will start at the Wells Fargo parking lot.
- Oct. 22, Halloween movie on the lawn: "The Haunted Mansion" will be played at Smithburg Firehouse, starting at dusk at around 6:45 p.m. Tickets are $25 per car with a six-person limit.
- Oct. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. Monster Mash: A family-friendly event with face painting, games, a bounce ride and refreshments in front of the Hall of records. Bring a jack-o-lantern to win a trophy. Register here.
- Oct. 27, 3:30 to 6 p.m., Trunk or Treat: The event is for Freehold Township residents between ages 2 and 14. Participants will meet at the Volleyball Pavilion, where they will get a loot bag and tickets for each "spooktacularly" decorated vehicle. Children must wear a costume.
- Oct. 31, Freehold Spooktacular Halloween Parade: Costume judging will be at 12:45 p.m. and the parade will start at 1 p.m. from the Racetrack parking lot.
