Freehold Woman Blocks Traffic During Fight; Used Pepper Spray Before Running From Officers
The defendant is alleged to have used pepper spray in a fight before running from officers responding to the scene of the crowd.

Everina Powell, 20, of Freehold was arrested August 10 in Freehold Boro for a fight in the middle of a street in which it is alleged she pepper-sprayed someone and brought traffic to a stop, according to Monmouth County Courthouse records.
The record says that ânumerousâ vehicles were forced to stop because of the fight, with people also exiting their vehicles and joining nearby residents who were drawn to the scene.
Officers were called to the scene of the crowd to investigate, at which point Powell is alleged to have run away, causing officers to have to pursue before arresting the defendant.

Powell was charged with obstructing the investigation of a crime and one act of disorderly persons, with a first court appearance of August 12. Officer Nicholas Iozzi was the arresting officer.
