MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — The weekend has arrived.
As October starts to come to a close and Halloween approaches, there are plenty of spooky (and fun) events planned around Monmouth County.
Whether you’re looking to check out some Halloween crafts, enjoy a local festival, or brave some of Monmouth County’s "haunted firehouses," here are six local events you can check out this weekend:

- Date: Saturday
- Location: Squan Plaza (Manasquan)
- Details: Enjoy pumpkin painting, a Halloween costume contest for those up to 12 years old and more at Manasquan’s Halloween Craft Show.

- Date: Saturday
- Locations: Mahoras/Waackaack & Flat Creek
- Details: Residents are invited to learn more about the waterways in their neighborhoods, where each stream begins and how actions upstream can impact those living downstream. Participants will receive a map with seven key viewing points along the stream, a stream observation sheet and access to guidance and learning materials from local “Stream Captains.” Registration is required.

- Location: Manalapan Township Fire Company 1 (5 Sweetmans Lane, Manalapan)
- Details: Take part in a night of “chills and thrills” at Manalapan Township Fire Company 1’s Haunted Firehouse event. Once you make it through the firehouse, attendees are welcome to relax in the pumpkin patch and grab a free pumpkin and candy bag.

- Location: 1099 Ocean Avenue, Sea Bright
- Details: Enjoy an afternoon of Halloween fun with trunk-or-treat, a Halloween parade, a haunted firehouse and more.
Asbury Park Halloween Food Truck & Music Festival
- Dates: Saturday & Sunday
- Location: Bradley Park (in front of the Convention Hall)
- Details: Enjoy costume contests, food trucks, live music, a beer garden and more at Asbury Park’s Halloween Food Truck & Music Festival. Admission is $5, while kids under 10 years old are free.
- Date: Sunday
- Location: Check-in and line-up begin at the Manalapan Entrance of the Freehold Raceway parking lot (130 Park Ave., Freehold)
- Details: Enjoy Freehold’s Costume Parade for their annual Spooktacular on Saturday, with complimentary refreshments at the Hall of Records parking lot after the event.
