JOBS Grads Take Another Step Toward Success In Monmouth

Monmouth County Vicinage yesterday celebrated the graduation of 12 JOBS participants from a project management certification course.

FREEHOLD, NJ — Preparing Monmouth County residents on probation or in recovery court for good jobs is the focus of the Judiciary Opportunities for Building Success Program.

And yesterday the Monmouth Vicinage celebrated the graduation of 12 participants in the program in an event at Brookdale Community College’s Long Branch campus, New Jersey Courts said in a news release.

The "JOBS" program partners with local employers to provide employment and job training, as well as professional development, for recovery court participants and those on probation.

The graduates, who were trained through Apex Solutions Group, completed a Certified Project Management training program.

The 10-week, train-to-hire program concentrated in Certified Associate in Project Management and provided extensive preparation for the certification exam, the courts said.

The classes also focused on topics such as job preparation and readiness, financial literacy, and ethics/integrity. The certification will enable the graduates to obtain positions in project management and business analysis, New Jersey Courts said in the news release.

Here's how the program works:

  • Businesses collaborate with a Probation Division representative to connect appropriate clients to employment opportunities and training, including forwarding resumes and consulting with employers during and after the interview process.
  • To be referred for employment opportunities, clients must be in full compliance with their conditions of probation, abstaining from illicit substances, and committed to work.
  • The JOBS initiative is a collaboration between the judiciary and employers (private and public) to assist people involved in community supervision with an opportunity to secure meaningful employment. This public/private collaboration has value for the individual probationers but also helps to improve the quality of life in the communities in Monmouth County.
  • Throughout this process, probation officers work with their clients on job readiness training and skill building for obtaining and keeping gainful employment.
