New Details In Fatal Crash In Front Of Colts Neck High School
The crash occurred around noon on Friday when a motorcycle and an electric delivery van collided, prosecutors said.
COLTS NECK, NJ — Authorities have identified the driver killed in a crash by Colts Neck High School on Friday afternoon, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said.
Stephen Morehouse, 65, of Long Branch, was killed in the crash at 12:08 p.m. on Friday, when Colts Neck Police responded to the area of County Road 537 and Willow Lake Drive for a report of a motorcycle versus electric delivery van collision.
According to prosecutors, a preliminary investigation found that Morehouse was driving a 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle headed east on CR 537 in the right lane of traffic when a collision occurred with a 2022 Rivian EDV, driven by a 57-year-old man.

The motorcycle then hit a concrete curb and grass island, ejecting Morehouse from his vehicle.
Following the crash, Santiago said Morehouse was rushed to a local hospital and later died from his injuries at 11:17 p.m. The driver of the van remained on scene.

As of Tuesday morning, prosecutors said no charges or summonses have been issued with regard to the incident.
Members of the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART) and the Colts Neck Township Police Department are investigating the incident.
