No Surprises In The Freehold Committee, Council Races

FREEHOLD, NJ — With only two candidates running from one party, there were no surprises in the Freehold Township Committee and Freehold Borough Council races.

Freehold Township Deputy Mayor Anthony Ammiano and Mayor Thomas L. Cook, both Republican, are set to hold on to their seats, according to unofficial results.

In the Freehold Borough, Democratic Councilwomen Sharon Shutzer and Annette Jordan, who were also unchallenged, are both ahead.

The referendum to approve a $14.46 million bond for school roofing and pavement improvements will also likely be approved, according to unofficial results.

All districts have been counted but the Monmouth County Clerk will have to certify the results before they are official.
