Ocean State Job Lot Opens Location At Freehold Raceway Mall

FREEHOLD, NJ — Ocean State Job Lot's new location in Freehold is officially open to the public.

Replacing the former Toys 'R Us at Raceway Mall Drive, after the retailer filed for bankruptcy in 2017, the new store is Ocean State Job Lot's 147th location (sixth in New Jersey).

The 44,784 space is located at 600 Trotters Way. Store hours are currently 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day.

The discount retail chain sells household goods, name brands, apparel, pet supplies, seasonal products and more, with annual sales exceeding $800 million.

“We’re looking forward to sharing Ocean State Job Lot’s unique shopping experience with our new neighbors in Freehold,” said store team leader Jeff Greene. “From seasonal items and home essentials, including fall lawn clean-up supplies, to pantry staples, paper goods, holiday wrapping, and a wide array of cleaning products, Ocean State Job Lot offers unbeatable prices and selection.”

The retailer has hired nearly 50 full and part-time associates for the new store so far.

On Oct. 26 and 27 all Ocean State Job Lot retail locations will host a hiring event from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Candidates who attend the event can learn more about career opportunities and job benefits.

The company said it offers employees "competitive pay " and a "robust list of perks and benefits," as well as a 30% in-store discount every day. Benefits include medical, vision and dental insurance (if eligible), profit participation, service awards, paid time off and a 401K.
