With a healing nature motif, each of the 14 private rooms includes modern conveniences such as an en suite bathroom, a switchable privacy window, remote-controlled room lights, a flat screen TV and a full reclining chair for patients or family members.
Rooms are equipped with a ceiling lift to promote mobility, and the unit has one negative or positive pressure room (isolation room) to maintain infection control.
A team of certified nurses specializing in cancer services also provide personalized care to patients, including those who need cardiac monitoring.
Co-Located Medical Oncology & Infusion Suites
A new medical oncology suite located in the Donna O’Donnell, RN Medical Arts Building is the home of Atlantic Medical Group Oncology at CentraState.
The office expands clinical capacity and provides easier access to specialized cancer services from across the Atlantic Health System, officials said.
Atlantic Medical Group Oncology specialists provide advanced care for adults facing a broad spectrum of cancers and blood disorders, including breast, colorectal, ovarian, GI, head and neck and pancreatic cancers, lymphoma and leukemia, as well as hematological issues.
A shared waiting room will connect the medical oncology space to the adjacent Jean Mehr Infusion Center at CentraState, officials said. This enhanced space will provide patients with comfortable, convenient and compassionate care delivered by specially trained nurses in the safety of a hospital setting.
The infusion center (containing 11 infusion bays and one private room) is equipped with bright windows, supportive reclining chairs, flat-screen TVs, Wi-Fi and dimmable lighting. The infusion center also offers expanded hours to accommodate patients’ schedules.
“With these notable enhancements, as well as the recent additions of top surgical talent and cutting-edge treatments and surgical techniques, we are proudly providing a level of cancer care that has traditionally only been offered at large metropolitan cancer centers right here in Monmouth County,” said Alexander Itskovich, MD, medical director of the Statesir Cancer Center.
“From the latest minimally invasive procedures and robotic-assisted platforms to cancer prevention and early detection programs, as well as expanded clinical trials and a genetics program, there’s a lot happening in cancer care at CentraState,” Itskovich continued.
