Freehold Borough is offering a tax assessment open house on Wednesday Dec. 7.
FREEHOLD, NJ — If you have questions about your property tax assessment, the borough is offering a second one-on-one meeting with the borough tax assessor to learn about the annual revaluation process.
The tax assessment open house begins at 6 p.m. Dec. 7. The program takes place at Freehold Borough Hall, 30 Mechanic St.
Meetings will be individual and on a first-come, first-served basis.

According to the borough website, Scott Kineavy is the tax assessor. (An earlier version of this story incorrectly identified the name of the assessor.) His office is responsible for establishing an assessed valuation for property in the borough as of Oct. 1 of the prior year.

The tax rate is formulated by the Monmouth County Tax Board from the state approved budgets of the county, the two school districts (Freehold Borough and the Freehold Regional High School District) and the municipality.
