Snow Day Called For Freehold Schools

About 3 to 7 inches of snow are expected on Monday, according to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service.

FREEHOLD, NJ — Like many other school districts in Monmouth County, Freehold Borough Public Schools, Freehold Township School District and Freehold Regional High School District have declared Monday a snow day, due to the winter storm warning in New Jersey.

"Holmdel Township Schools will be closed today, January 3, 2022, due to the impending storm. All after school activities will be cancelled (sic)," a statement from Frehold Regional reads.

Parts of southern New Jersey will see heavy snow.

The National Weather Service warned that snowfall would result in treacherous driving conditions. Blowing snow will cause reduced visibility, further increasing danger traveling.

Even though roads may initially remain above freezing, higher snowfall rates will still lead to roads becoming snow-covered in areas under warnings or advisories, according to the National Weather Service.
