Sparkling Toast To Baby Girl Born On New Year's Day In Freehold

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, NJ — For her family, Ellie Beyer's arrival into the world at 12:15 a.m. on Jan. 1 was quite the occasion of 2024.

The Beyers, of Jackson, welcomed Ellie on New Year's Day with a sparkling cider toast at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold Township - and they made sure to get lots of Polaroids of her arrival, too.

Ellie is the first baby born to mom Scout and dad Blake Beyers, said CentraState's spokesperson Joy Lee-Calio. And she was the first born at CentraState in 2024, she added.

Mom Scout said the labor and delivery experience was chronicled with a Polaroid camera.

The instant pictures "captured the moments right after my water broke (G-rated)," says Scout.

She said the last photo of just herself and her husband was taken around 9 p.m. Then the first photo of the family of now three was taken in the New Year, along with photos of grandparents and one with Scout, Ellie and labor and delivery nurse Colette.

"Our experience with CentraState was amazing. We brought sparkling cider to toast with the staff at midnight and celebrate the birth of Ellie. To have a staff in which you can remember the names of everyone who helped welcome your daughter into the world goes to show how professional and caring the L&D, special care and post care units are," said Scout Beyer.

"We would especially love to thank Colette, Beatrice, Danielle, Jen, Esther, Barbara, Stacy and, of course, Drs. Kirwin and Neuwirth for all of their help and care, and everyone else we may have missed," she said.
