Water Quality May Be Affected By Maintenance Tests, Freehold Borough Officials Say
See details on when the tests are set to take place and how water may be affected:
FREEHOLD BOROUGH, NJ — Residents should be aware of upcoming equipment tests that may affect water quality, Freehold Borough officials said.
On Tuesday (July 8) and Wednesday (July 9), the Freehold Borough Fire Department will be testing equipment at the Park Avenue School.
This testing may have an effect on the area water quality due to increased turbulence in the water distribution system, stirring up sediment and minerals in the pipes, officials said. This may cause discoloration in the water.

While the discoloration is harmless, officials said residents may wish to let the water run clear before consumption or for laundry purposes. Water quality will return to normal once testing is complete.
“Thank you for your patience as our fire department conducts this important maintenance testing,” borough officials said.
