$10K Green Grant Will Enhance Galloway Park

The Sustainable Jersey grant will support Go Green Galloway in their efforts to enhance Glenn by the Bay.

GALLOWAY, NJ — A $10,000 grant will help community organizations to enhance and beautify an underutilized park with native plants.

The Sustainable Jersey grant, funded by PSEG, was awarded to Go Green Galloway for the "Go Native! At Glenn by the Bay" project.

Go Green Galloway will work with the Absecon Green Team, using expertise from a collaboration with the National Park Service and other partners, to remove invasive species and build pollinator gardens with native plants.

Signage and benches will be added, and "Walk and Talk" events implemented to educate park visitors about the importance of naturalizing open space and encourage them to use native plants on their own property.

"These sustainability projects will strengthen New Jersey by helping local communities become more livable, environmentally friendly and prosperous. Congratulations grant recipients; thank you for taking steps to improve health, integrate sustainability into student learning, boost recycling efforts and cut greenhouse gas emissions," said Randall Solomon, executive director for Sustainable Jersey. "Your projects will have a ripple effect that will benefit us all."
