Man Pulled From Burning Galloway Home: Police

The fire started shortly before 4 a.m. Wednesday in the Smithville section of Galloway, according to police.

GALLOWAY, NJ β€” A man was rescued from a burning home in Galloway early Wednesday, police said.

The fire was reported shortly before 4 a.m. on the 100 block of Waterview Drive in the Smithville section of town, Galloway police said.

Two Galloway cops who were serving as volunteer firefighters for the Oceanville Fire Company entered the burning home, police said. Officer Nicholas Stewart and Officer John Parker quickly located the homeowner and pulled him from the blaze.

The man was taken to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center City where he remains in intensive care, police said.

Several agencies remain on scene as the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office investigates.
