11 Counties With the Most DUI Arrests; Atlantic Among Highest

In 2011, there were 26,240 arrests in New Jersey for driving under the influence. The state’s most populous county, Bergen, topped the list in sheer number of arrests. The second most populous, Middlesex County, ranked third.

But the two next most populous counties, Essex and Hudson, did not crack the Top 10 in DUI arrests.

We’ve included the raw number of arrests, plus the ratio of arrests to population. Under the latter measurement, Middlesex and Atlantic counties had the highest rate of DUI arrests.

The data is from the state’s Intoxicated Driving Program 2012 Statistical Summary Report, released in May.
