Car Kills Galloway Man Walking on Route 9

William A. Williams of Galloway Township died early Monday morning (Jan. 20).

A 61-year-old Galloway Township man was killed Monday morning as he walked along Route 9 at the Lily Lake Road intersection, according to Galloway Township police.

Preliminary reports indicated that William A. Williams was walking in the roadway when he was struck by a 1996 Toyota Camry driven by Gloria Carmona, 52, of Little Egg Harbor Township, a police news release said. Carmona was traveling northbound on Route 9.

The accident occurred at 1:37 a.m. Monday (Jan. 20) and Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.
