NEW JERSEY — Another round of minor coastal flooding is expected on Monday along the coast of New Jersey and Delaware Bay, forecasters said.

Up to one foot of inundation above ground level could collect in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways, according to the National Weather Service.

A coastal flood advisory indicates that minor tidal flooding is possible along the most vulnerable roadways in coastal and bayside communities, the service said. Minor tidal flooding could also result in some road closures.

Some “spottier” minor flooding may also occur on the Delaware Bay and the tidal Delaware River this afternoon, the service added.

“Do not leave your vehicle at a location that is prone to tidal flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters,” the weather service said. “The water may be deeper than you think it is. You will be putting yourself in danger and your vehicle may be damaged, leading to costly repairs.”

More “spotty” minor flooding is possible along the coast on Tuesday, though no advisories have been issued as of Monday morning.
