Free Toll Friday Returns To Atlantic City Expressway
Drivers can enjoy relief from tolls this Friday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the eastbound Egg Harbor Toll Plaza.
ATLANTIC COUNTY, NJ — With gas prices on the rise, drivers on the Atlantic City Expressway can enjoy an hour of relief this Friday as popular Philadelphia restaurant Chickie's and Pete's brings back "Free Toll Friday."
All drivers at the eastbound Egg Harbor Toll Plaza this Friday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. will have their tolls, both cash and EZ Pass, covered by Chickie's and Pete's.
The annual tradition returns after a two-year pandemic hiatus.

“We simply could not be more excited to get back to kicking off and celebrating summer by paying for driver's tolls again,” Chickie's and Pete's founder Pete Ciarrocchi said in a release. “This year we are celebrating more than the kick-off to summer. We are paying for the tolls to thank all those who supported us the past two years. Chickie’s and Pete’s customers supported us and now we get to return the favor."
Earlier in the day at the Frank S. Farley Plaza, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., the restaurant and the South Jersey Transportation Authority will host an event kicking off summer. There will be free food and drinks, and Chickie's and Pete's will give away free orders of their famous Crabfries.

Children will also be able to visit with ambassadors from The Funny Farm, an animal rescue sanctuary for farm and zoo animals.
