Atlantic City Electric Working To Restore Power In Atlantic County
The electric company said 97 percent of its customers already had power back late Tuesday morning.

Atlantic City Electric is working to restore full power to customers still left in the dark on Tuesday. It expects full restoration by midnight, although it expects most customers to have power back before then.
Overall, Atlantic City Electric said power has already been restored to 97 percent, or 58,000, of its customers in a statement released late Tuesday morning.

The electric company is dispatching crews made up from more than 365 line personnel, to the remaining localized outage areas. This includes line personnel from its sister companies, Potomac Electric Power Company and Delmarva Power.
Damaged areas where Atlantic City Electric is working to restore power today include Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties.

When the damage is severe, restoring power to a single customer can take as much time as restoring service to a large group of customers, the electric company said. The majority of remaining outages affect individual customers.
βWe are hard at work tackling these localized outages and restoring power to the remaining customers without electricity,β Atlantic City Electric Region President Vince Maione said. βWe will not be satisfied or diminish our efforts until every customer affected by the January 23 Norβeaster is restored.β
Atlantic City Electric appreciates customersβ patience and cautions that new outages may occur as tree limbs continue to fall and disrupt service and crews switch main power lines off and on to allow them to work safely.
The electric company urges customers to remain in contact with its customer call centers. By responding to call-backs and reporting lingering outages, customers play an integral role in the companyβs ability to identify persistent, localized outages, the electric company said.
