Legendary Rock Band Says 'Irreplaceable' Instruments Were Stolen From NJ Venue

The rockers said these one-of-a-kind instruments were stolen before they kicked off the latest leg of their tour in Atlantic City.

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — An iconic classic rock band is pleading for the return of rare instruments they say were stolen right before kicking off their latest tour leg at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City.

Nancy Wilson of the rock band Heart said in a Facebook post also shared by sister and bandmate Ann Wilson that two "irreplaceable" instruments had been stolen from the venue where the gear had been set up the day prior to the show.

A custom built, one-of-a-kind purple sparkle baritone Telecaster with a hand-painted headstock crafted specifically for Nancy Wilson was one item stolen. Also taken was a vintage 1966 Gibson EM-50 mandolin that band member Paul Moak has played for more than 25 years.

"These instruments are more than just tools of our trade — they're extensions of our musical souls," Nancy Wilson said. "The baritone Tele was made uniquely for me, and Paul's mandolin has been with him for decades. We're heartbroken, and we're asking for their safe return — no questions asked. Their value to us is immeasurable."

The band is offering a reward to anyone who has information leading to the instruments' return. They urge anyone with knowledge of the theft or the items' whereabouts to come forward. Any information can be shared with Heart's manager, Tony Moon (TonyMoon@me.com).
