Motorcyclist Killed In SUV Collision On Memorial Day In South Jersey: Police
The motorcyclist crashed into a Chevrolet Equinox that was turning left in Mays Landing Monday afternoon, police said.
MAYS LANDING, NJ — A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with an SUV in Mays Landing on Memorial Day, the Township of Hamilton Police Department said.
Vance Virtue, 71, was riding his motorcycle on Weymouth Road near Winding River Campground around 3 p.m. Monday, police said.
Virtue, an Egg Harbor Township resident, crashed into a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox that was heading south on Weymouth Road, police said. The SUV was turning left when Virtue struck it, police said.

The driver of the Equinox, a 78-year-old Mays Landing man, suffered non-life-threatening injuries while Virtue was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Traffic was diverted for several hours Monday as police investigated.
