Nor'easter In Galloway: Rain And Winds Into Thursday
A major storm has started to hit Galloway. Here's what's happened, and here's what's expected to happen next.
GALLOWAY, NJ β A "major" nor'easter started to hit Galloway on Wednesday afternoon, producing heavy rain and strong winds into Thursday.
The National Weather Service labeled the "major" system a "nor'easter" since it's expected to produce strong, sustained damaging winds and precipitation over a 24-hour period on Wednesday.

The NWS placed Galloway and the surrounding area under a coastal flood warning, which remains in effect until 3 p.m. Thursday, and a wind advisory, which remains in effect until 1 a.m. Thursday.
The NWS expects heavy rain near Galloway. Forecasters predict winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

Here's the NWS's forecast for Galloway as of 7 p.m. Wednesday:
- Wednesday night: The rain could be heavy at times. Low around 28. Windy, with a northeast wind 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent.
- Thursday: A chance of rain before 7am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 38. Breezy, with a north wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
- Thursday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24. North wind around 10 mph.
