Pedestrian Killed Crossing White Horse Pike In Hammonton: Police

A pedestrian was fatally struck Saturday while crossing White Horse Pike in Hammonton, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.

HAMMONTON, NJ — A pedestrian was struck and killed Saturday while crossing White Horse Pike in Hammonton, Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill said.

According to a preliminary investigation, a Black Ram truck driven by Jeffrey Dooner, 55, of Margate was traveling west on the pike and was crossing the intersection at Central Avenue when Nancy Martinez, 60, of Jersey City was walking north across the pike.

Martinez was struck as she entered into the path of the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released at this time, prosecutors said.
