Pedestrian Killed Walking Along Galloway Highway In Early Morning Crash: Police
The 20-year-old woman was struck and killed walking along White Horse Pike at about 5 a.m. Monday, Galloway police said.
GALLOWAY, NJ — A 20-year-old woman was struck and killed while walking on White Horse Pike in an early morning crash Monday, Galloway police said in a news release.
Police were dispatched to the area of White Horse Pike and Damson Avenue at around 5 a.m. June 2 for the report of a pedestrian-involved crash, officials said.
A 31-year-old Absecon woman was driving west in a 2009 GMC Sierra, police said. As the woman was driving in the inside lane, her pickup truck hit the pedestrian, who was walking in the inside westbound lane, police said.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead on the scene; the driver was uninjured and was the only one in the vehicle, police said.
The pedestrian's identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The roadway was closed for about four hours while the scene was investigated and has since been re-opened for normal traffic.
