Pedestrian Killed On South Jersey Highway, Police Say
The pedestrian was struck and killed Tuesday night on the border of Absecon and Pleasantville, police said.
ABSECON, NJ — A pedestrian was struck and killed in crash on an Atlantic County highway Tuesday night, Absecon police said.
The fatal crash occurred at Route 9 (New Road) and California Avenue at about 7:38 p.m., police said. That intersection is right where Absecon and Pleasantville border each other.
No details about the victim have been released.

The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with authorities, Absecon police said.
Traffic in the area was interrupted for about five hours Tuesday as a result.

The crash is currently under investigation by the Absecon Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit and the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Crash Investigations Unit.
