South Jersey Man Indicted For Making And Selling 'Ghost Guns'

Police seized 31 illegal firearms and parts from Gregory Carleton's South Jersey Home

MAYS LANDING – A South Jersey man who made and sold “ghost guns" has been indicted on multiple weapons charges after police seized 31 illegal weapons from his Evesham Township home, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner said

On April 10, 2018, an Atlantic County Grand Jury returned a 22-count indictment against Gregory Carleton, 56, Evesham Township, for unlawfully manufacturing and selling “ghost guns.” Ghost guns are guns manufactured without the legally required serial number., Tyner said.

On January 17, 2018, Carleton illegally sold a ghost gun in Hammonton. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Unit, with the assistance of the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, then searched Carleton’s residence in Evesham Township in Burlington County.

Police seized an additional 17 ghost guns, 14 unregistered firearms, and numerous parts, tools, and equipment used to manufacture firearms. In total, 31 firearms were seized, the prosecutor said.

Gregory Carleton is being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
