Troopers Arrest Fugitive and Shut Down Drug Mill

Two arrested at Buck Drive home in Galloway Township.

 

Troopers working with deputies from the United States Marshals Service arrested a fugitive at his Galloway Township residence and discovered an illegal drug processing mill.

On Friday, June 7th at approximately 6 a.m., troopers from the New Jersey State Police Fugitive Unit working with the US Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force arrived at 24 Buck Drive in Galloway Township to serve an arrest warrant on Rubin Sewell.

Upon entry into the residence, detectives located Sewell and immediately placed him under arrest. During the arrest, detectives observed a white powder and rock substance located in the bathroom and bedroom of the residence. Detectives also observed a black handgun in the bedroom. Also living at the home was Lavelle Davis, 33, who was placed under arrest.

As a result of drugs and handgun that were observed inside of the residence, the Atlantic City Violent Crime Task Force arrived at the scene to assist with the investigation. Detectives applied for, and were granted, a search warrant for the home.

The following items were seized from the residence:

  • One Springfield Arms 40 Caliber handgun
  • Nine hollow point ammunition rounds
  • 81 grams of Crack Cocaine valued at $4,500.00
  • 45 grams of Heroin valued at $9,120.00
  • 530 grams of Cocaine valued at $18,000.00
  • Six grams of Marijuana valued at $60.00
  • Over $32,000.00 in US Currency
  • Currency counting machine
  • Drug paraphernalia including packaging and stamps
  • Multiple processing tools and agents for manufacturing crack-cocaine and heroin

Rubin Sewell, 33, of Galloway was charged with:

  • Operating a CDS manufacturing Facility
  • Distribution of CDS
  • Unlawful Possession of a Handgun
  • Possession of Hollow Point Ammunition 
  • Use of Personal ID of Another

Lavelle Davis, 33, of Galloway was charged with:

  • Operating a CDS manufacturing Facility
  • Distribution of CDS
  • Unlawful Possession of a Handgun
  • Possession of Hollow Point Ammunition 

Both suspects were transported to the Atlantic County jail in lieu of bail. Rubin Sewell on $150,000 full cash and Lavelle Davis on $125,000 full cash.

The charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
